Fondation 29 Haussmann against coronavirus
In the exceptional context of the fight against the coronavirus and at a time when the Minister of National Education has indicated that 5 to 8% of pupils have been "lost" by teachers due to confinement, the Fondation 29 Haussmann has supported the operation run since March 24th jointly by the Break Poverty Foundation, Emmaüs Connect and a group of mentoring associations (AFEV, Article 1…), aiming at providing disadvantaged children with emergency computers, so that they can access school remotely.
The first 1,000 young people targeted by this initiative are located all over France, live below the poverty line and are accompanied in their schooling by a mentor from one of the partner associations.
Computers were delivered with a 4G key and a subscription offered by SFR (French operator). Families also receive support in learning to use these computers thanks to the familiarisation tools developed by Emmaüs Connect and benefit from the monitoring by the sponsors and mentors from the partner associations.
The Fondation's donation of 25,000 euros enabled nearly 200 children to continue their schooling at home.
